Vegan Mulita - layers of corn tortilla and...stuff.
Los Gorditos II is an all-vegan cart that was opened this past fall by the sweet owners of Taqueria Los Gorditos on SE Division. The original has had an ample vegan menu in place for over a year and a half now, tried out vegan Sunday hours and flew with the business and community-wise idea with this new cart. You can get a glimpse of the large, extended menu here.
They offer burritos, tacos, mulitas, tortas, nachos (ahhh!), enchiladas, bowls and more - and have tofu, Soyrizo, Follow Your Heart cheeze AND vegan sour cream. You can easily make a vegan cheezy sauce at home any day, but addictively seasoned cheap beans and rice with vegan chorizo over nachos or in a bowl or burrito or tacos and dairy alternatives is too good to pass up.
If you're veg*n in the Portland area, surely you've been to at least one of these carts. Now go to both! Again! How are you not supporting the vegan taco truck within walking distance to the vegan mini mall?? Is it because their hours are 11am-5pm M-Sat? Then go to the original, it's open till 8pmish! What? I'm a fan. And it's silly but still fussworthy, because I honestly prefer the simple beans, rice and avocado dish for $4.50, though I'll indulge in the nachos if I'm really, really hungry.
Vegan Enchiladas - note: the soy cheeze doesn't melt on these.
Vegan Quesadilla. The cheeze does melt in these. This is what I ordered, it sure was melty. Devestatingly, I couldn't handle the immense soyrzio and fake cheeze heartburn so I'll stick to my beans, rice and avocado in the future. Plus, I'm a crispy food fanatic so I don't know what I was thinking ordering something soft....
*hard work is obviously a mixture of school work, conversation and blogging.

I love this place! I got the enchiladas just this weekend with the tofu and follow your heart cheese and I have been craving more ever since. I decided I need to go to this place way more often. Have I mentioned how good the enchiladas were? Love it!
OMG! I wish we had one in our Portland. Instead of the ice cream truck driving by just before dinner!! What a hit that would be!
I've only recently gotten "into" mexican food (I despised it as a kid) so this looks heavenly!
ooooh yum. totally awesome food.
Why am I not in Portland more often. That looks fantastic! I have the flu and even that looks tasty.
jess you are too cute. however, next time you go here you have to tell me because as you may remember the last two times i have tried to get some of their yummy food, i have failed. and i personally love the quesadilla but have been told to try the burrito with soyrizo. oh yeah!
You are so lucky to have stands like this in Portland; maybe I should be living there instead of in cold-as-all-hell Massachusetts! I have yet to try a tasty vegan scramble, something I consider a real travesty :P
What a wonderful world it would be to have access to vegan food like that all the time! Jealous!!!
Oh wow! Please bring that cart to Germany!
seriosuly is there anythng better than mexican food thats vegan>!!??!? ahhh heaven
Dude the torta IS THE BEST! How can you not want toasted bread? It's the lovechild of a burrito and a sandwich. Two of the best food items on the planet. They stick something magical in there, i'm pretty sure. Get it with soy curls!
My first comment got screwed up... It said: I love mexican as much as the next person, but until these guys put a truck somewhere in N. Portland it's just too far to go 20 miles on bus/scooter for a taco, no matter how great.
This is why I haven't been.
i'm still trying to wrap my mind around a vegan taco cart.
That is one sad tomato. Thanks for the heads up on location - I am one of those PDX vegans that has not visited either location - but I blame my lack of love for Mexican food.
OMG SweetpeaKatie in the house.
Deanna - I'll let you know next time, for sure! I would say this Saturday but I have a tattoo appt. later and don't want to be gassy! hahahahahaha....
Hey Steff! I'm not a huge Mexican food fan either - probably why I opt for the beans, rice and avocado meal. You know, since I hate onions and cilantro me and Mexican food aren't exactly BFF.
That last picture is killing me.
wow I never try do enchilada or this kinds or food but I must try, look very great!
Ooh, I want to go there!
I just ate at Cafe Chow in NW Portland and had the most delicious marinated tofu sandwich. If you get the Mighty Aphrodite sandwich with marinated tofu on multigrain bread with dijon instead of the feta spread it's vegan and really delicious. I'm usually not a fan of marinated tofu and was hesitant at first, but this was really exceptional! I'm looking forward to going back and urge vegans to go and make their vegan-ness known. One of the chefs is vegan and is hoping that the cafe will expand their menu further to include more vegan options if the demand for them is clear. So this is our chance to be seen!
Please check it out, they're at 505 NW 14th [and no I have no affiliation with the restaurant]. I didn't try the fries, but they came recommended and sound like they're scrumptious... they're tossed with nutritional yeast and I'm definitely going to try some the next time I'm craving fried potatoes!
just had the torta today. amazing! and the tomato wasn't so bad really - maybe it's because we're getting closer to tomato season? the bread was fantastic.
Beside your taco trucks you can also choose digger derrick trucks. They will serve you the best.
That Food Looks Great
Wow those Photos makes me so hungry
Yum!!!! I'm not vegan, but I'll pretend to be when in Portland :) "Soyrizo" lmao. That just seems wrong!!! Food looks delish though!

Looks yummy, but I bet it's not great for the diet!
These digger derrick trucks are used in many industries such as mining and well-digging in construction among others. The equipments being mounted on a Digger Derrick Truck is most commonly known as a digger derrick.

Food trucks are literally moving into cities and changing the dining scene. They are hip to eat at and highly eclectic with whimsical themes and slogans, but what is really wonderful about them is their food. Web Design Bangalore
