More Brunch Test Recipes ala Isa Chandra Moskowitz

Since late last week I've had kitchen time on my hands and Brunch test recipes to play with.
It's like having Isa over for brunch, only she doesn't show up and just tells you what to do.

Tofu Benedict with Hollandaise

Sesame Tofu Scramble (itty bity lefotvers)

Sauteed Collards with 'Sausage'

With Smoky Black Bean Sausages - my variation of Isa's Spicy Pinto Bean Sausages (there will be breakfast sausage in the book!), which was based on Julie Hasson's Spicy Italian Sausages.

The evolution of the easiest fake meat making.

Getting ready to steam.

Finished product. Who buys Tofurkey?? THESE ARE SO DAMN EASY.

Tofu Benny, Shot 2, this time with more smoky, steamed chard:

Wash it all down with the last glass out of your third-to-last carton of
Peppermint Chocolate Vitasoy from your stockpile.

Look for Isa's Brunch book to hit in early 2009, if I recall correctly. Maybe I'm making that up, but it sounds right. Testing is almost complete, but expect at least a few more blogged about in the near future.

So Jess, I had a dream last night that you wrote a cookbook! You should totally do it! How about, "Fresh From the Market with Jess"??

Wow, the sausages have made me think that a bean-based chorizo may be possible after all...

Brunch is my favorite meal so it's so great seeing these recipes unfold in your kitchen. I am not normally a person who buys a cookbook, but I think this one I am going to have to!

That Tofu Benedict is blowing my mind! I love how the tofu is cut all circular-like. Presentation really is everything!

And this reminds me that I've got to make some more steamed sausages. My frozen stash has run dry...

I can't freaking wait for this book to come out. Isa mentioned the tofu benny on Eric's podcast a bit back, but seeing it in the photo is almost too much!

Okay, the Tofu Benedict with Hollandaise looks gorgeous.

Of coure, I am reading this pre-breakfast. But now I know what I want. Now, where's my tofu?

Cheers!

I'm really excited about tofu benedict! That used to be one of my favorite breakfast items as a kid.

You're so lucky to still have that Vitasoy! I get my hopes up every time I go to Grocery Outlet & see the chocolate banana flavor. Why can't they get their hands on the Peppermint?! It's heaven. As is that photo of Tofu Benedict.

Counting the days til Isa's new book...

And I;m the only vegan in the world who hasn't made those sausages! They look so easy and tempting...and if this economy doesn't motivate me, I'm not sure what will.
