Seasons' Greetings from Get Sconed!

Where are my photos?? It'll probably be a few more days, but they will be here after I um..unbreak some stuff.

Expect more cornmeal crusted tempeh, cranberry hazelnut bread and cookies, cookies cookies..

I've spent this past week making these cookies and chocolates for holiday gift bags I gave out yesterday at work.

I had a lovely, though tiring time in the kitchen and made:

Rumnog Pecan cookies (a PPK test recipe)
Lemon Drops
Mexican Wedding Cookies/Russian Tea Cakes
Candy Cane Chocolate Chocolate Chip with white chocolate chips (not vegan chips)
Cashew Creme Truffles rolled in cocoa powder, powdered sugar and coconut.
Snickerdoodles
Almond Chocolate Chip Biscotti

I received new plates, glasses and bakeware from coworkers - how sweet is that?? If it would only snow..

Dear Snow Cat,
Can you please steal some cookies for me when Jess isn't looking? Thanks!

I'm happy it hasn't snowed.

I need to come up with some interesting side options for xmas dinner.

Don't you just love those truffles? I made them this week too and OMG I could eat them every single day. Seriously. Every day.

Thanks for posting the link to the Mexican Wedding Cookies. We're having posole and tamales on Christmas Eve and Mexican Wedding Cookies will be the perfect desert. Yum!

Jess, we've had no snow either and there isn't any in the forecast for Christmas. :o( Bummer.
Can't wait to see your photos. Should look mouth-watering as always.
Have a very Merry Christmas!

Love the snow cat! Normally, I'd be wishing for snow here. Though, I hurt my knee snowboarding a few weeks back. Since I've got a at least two more weeks of rehab, I'd be bummed if it snowed.

Anyway to answer your question about the "cheese". I bet cashews would work. My guess is that they would produce a slightly softer and more spreadable consistency. I saw a cashew cheese recipe not too long ago and saved it into my archive if you want me to email or post it. I don't recall that it was as sophisticated of a taste with all the herbs as the VT recipe is.

BTW - Looking forward to the snickerdoodles. Funny, as I made those for the party tonight.
