Let's have breakfast.

Vegan with a Vengeance biscuit, Road End's Organics Savory Gravy (pretty good but not really for me), veggie sausage, roasted asparagus and cremini mushrooms.

Oatmeal - coconut - chocolate chip - golden raisin cookies. On the crispy side, but lovely with a cold glass of soymilk.
Spicy roasted chickpeas with organic baby spinach.

Tri-colored veggie spiral pasta with sauteed baby spinach, red peppers and cherry tomatoes in olive oil, a ton of garlic and a bit of crushed red pepper. Also seen: baked and grilled olive oil/lemon/bragg's marinaded tofu.Vegan with a Vengeance blueberry coffeecake with pecans and powdered sugar - Entemann's style.
Coffeecake top.

This will be my last posting until after the 15th, as I depart on a red eye for NY this evening. Departing Portland at 11:20pm, layover for a couple of hours in Chicago and arriving in NYC at 10am. I'm going 'home' to visit family and friends on Long Island & to enjoy NYC - glorious meals will probably be captured on camera. I've packed some cookies, carrots and chickpeas for my travels. I will return post-vacation for recipe-testing galore.

Everything looks great. That coffee cake is amazing. Have a great trip and I am looking forward to the NYC food- I read about all the vegan restaurants all the time! I'll miss your homemade goodness for the time being.

yes, eat at the candle cafe(or candle 79, or whatever it is....perhaps there's both?) and rub the porn in all our faces.

Everything looks so good. I just purchased vwav and actually some a Roads End Sampler pack arrived in the mail the other day. LOL.

Enjoy NY, I second the Candle Cafe suggestion. Their chimmi churri seitan and limonade are favorites of mine.

There is another place I've been wanting to try next time I am in NY, call Caravan of Dreams.

The roasted chickpeas look delish and baby spinack rocks - organic is even better. Have a nice holiday!

Until I started looking around on other people's blogs I had never heard of having biscuits with gravy on top of them. Have I led a sheltered life? I grew up on the east coast and we'd have biscuits with just margarine, jam or molasses. Mmmm, biscuits with molasses. Try it.
Enjoy your trip. Can't wait to hear about all the cool things you did and ate. Don't forget pictures.

All of this food looks so good. Much better than the smoothie that I am drinking right now.
P.S. I like my cookies a little crispy.
