Saturdayyy and recent food..

Spicy Super Garlicky - Tomato Tangerine Soup! The recipe for this will be forthcoming. Tonight's dinner - vegan biscuit & Road's End Organic Golden gravy, homemade sweet potato tempeh sausage patty!, my take on my mom's sweet potato pie/casserole recipe <3 .

My biscuit cutter was still in heart form from the Valentine's day shortbread, so I figured what the hell I'd be cute. To it's side is another sweet potato tempeh sausage. I made half a batch sweet potato, half a batch russet. The sweet potato recipes will hopefully be posted tommorow in Vegan Cookoff ~

I'm soaking chickpeas tonight! First time soaking..I took a 'Pure Vegetarian' cooking class today, and while basic and a little wholesome (lima bean chocolate pudding, very chalky), it really made me step up and finally soak my own beans.

It was so easy, I loved it. And now I have a big tupperware of chickpeas to play with.

Yehee, welcome to the bean soaking club!
I said in my first ever post here that I'm going to come back, but I must have forgotten to bookmark this. Oh well. Can I just link to your blog?
thanks!

That is a seriously sweet potato heavy meal. I approve.

Soaking you own beans is something I need to do more often.

weird. I soak chickpeas yesterday for hte first time. Actually, I found it difficult. Perhaps I bought beans that were old, but I had lots of bad ones I had to pick out and tons of them split after I cooked them. I dunno....

Kaivegan- I'd very exciting to be soaking my own beans. The chickpeas came out pretty great. I also bought dried red kidney and black beans today for very homemade chili I want to make.

Vegancore- The sweet potato theme fortunately didn't overwhelm, I assume because textures and flavor contrast salt/sweet was there.

Danielle- It was very tasty, and now have 6 or so in the freezer, plus I got to sorta like a homemade veggie burger, which I'm proud of.

Emily-that stinks- I wish you chickpea luck in the future! Your ratatueille still looks delicious.
