October-ness

Veganomican chickpea cutlets baked as 'meatball', whole wheat rotelle, homemade sundried tomato marinara, fresh spinach and almond parmesan. Strange to believe I first tested these cutlets over a year ago.

It's that time of year, when yes, I happily wear hooded sweatshirts constantly, break out the scarves and give up on fighting the portland weather for decent hair...and take photos in artificial light with my dying canon powershot. I should really be saving up for a new camera, but I'm currently saving for holiday spending in relation to an 11-day visit I'm giving myself to Boston and New York in December.
Buying my grandparents John Wayne and I Love Lucy VHS box sets, treating my little brother and his first apartment to his first Trader Joe's shopping trip, booking a hotel room in Boston with my sister, paying for her gas money, dining out, etc. etc. etc....vs. a new camera.
So, the point of this post is bright lights?

I love hooded sweatshirt weather!

The Chickpea Cutlets is one recipe i'm really looking forward too. I use to make them a lot when I first went veg many years ago and want to see how different the recipes are.

I knowwww. I'm not loving the fake lighting aspect of this time of year either. Oh well. It still looks amazingly tasty, though!

Autumn is my favorite season, for all the reasons you mentioned - I loove lounging around in warm hooded sweatshirts :0)

Your upcoming December trip to Boston and NYC sounds quite fun - enjoy it!

Ugh, I hate the lighting this time of the year. We're totally buying/making a lightbox next time I get money.

Wish for camera money for xmas!

Just like you, I'd love a new camera but traveling (and eating) always get in the way! Well, your food photos always look good to me anyway. I wish we could hook up when you're on the east coast in December, but I'll be going to California then! Bummer!

P.S. I know you like fall, but the whole "it's dark by lunchtime, let alone dinnertime so my food photography will suffer" thing is just another part of this season that gets on my nerves!
