Did I not grill anything in this post?

First off, let me say that my favorite way of enjoying my berries has been............snacking on frozen blueberries! I forgot how much I liked them. I haven't been coating them fancily in chocolate either, just straight up. Too bad I'm about to run out.

In fact, the majority of the berries we kept eating as is, until this fantastic blueberry, strawberry & coconut waffle, made with whole wheat pastry flour and applesauce for most of the oil. It's the VWAV pancake recipe, by the way.

Strawberry, blueberry & coconut waffle half, tempeh bacon and kiwi

Vegan Yum Yum tester Hurry Up Alfredo over whole wheat penne, with broccoli raab and fresh herbs
This sauce is really great, and I foresee a white pizza in my future...

I admit this photo is crap, BUT this homemade peanut butter brown rice syrup sauce was superb, if I do say so myself. I like brown rice syrup more than I thought I would, which
isn't much. It's over Vanilla So Delicious.

This was a very simple, but extremely satisfying meal: I sauteed some Tofurkey Sundried Italian sausage in a little canola buttery spray, toasted a fat free english muffin with garlic, steamed some broccoli raab and threw a little sundried tomato and red wine marinara on the side. Squisito!

This one is from a couple weeks back - tempeh bacon (VWAV) open faced sandwich with spinach, tomato, avocado and Vegenaise.

Fiesta Soy Curls Nachos, which I raved up on the ppk, and saw in action at Vegfest back in May.

I bought them at Food Fight, rehydrated, and sauteed in olive oil, garlic, diced jalapenos and bell pepper, fiesta chili powder, tamari, hot sauce, ancho chili powder, cumin, oregano, sea salt and pepper.
I served it on top of jalapeno tortilla chips (Trader Joe's) and melted FYH cheddar, with a side salad topped with fresh lime juice.

This past Saturday farmer's market haul:
basil, heirloom tomatoes, cherries, red & white garlic, black raspberries/blackcaps, parsley, zucchini, yellow squash and a bag of mixed lettuce (not pictured).

Happy 4th and stuff!

You never cease to amaze me. You are THE most prolific cook.

I am hooked on the Tofurkey Italian Sausage. I would eat it every night if I could--for awhile, at least.

Everything looks incredible Jess, as usual!

Vegan alfredo? This I have to try--yet another reason to snap up a copy of Lolo's cookbook come November. (Another big one is the trifle recipe!)

And I think I need to move to Portland; it looks like the markets there are fantastic.

I've primarily been enjoying strawberries as frozen snacks this summer--how funny! Of all these wonderful food pics, that waffle sounds the most amazing to me right now. But mmm, white pizza...

I have to try your brown rice/peanut butter idea. I'm always trying to make myself like brown rice syrup more!

Aw man your food looks great. Does the pancake recipe work better for makeing waffles than the waffle recipe in VWAV?

Everything looks great! Your tempeh bacon looks perfect, as does the waffle. And I'm crazily jealous of all the things you got from the farmers market. I'm really intereseted in the black raspberries, I've never seen them before, what are they like?

Everything looks awesome as usual!
Happy fourth

Oh god, everything looks so great- amazing! I love how many greens you use, you could really teach me a thing or two.

And blackcaps! I missed the market last Saturday, but will be there this Saturday for sure, I grew up eating blackcaps everyday during the summer in Pennsylvania.

Caty - The blackcaps and technically black raspberries. They are smaller, and seedier than typical raspberries, and less 'tart'. Personally, minding the stuck in your teeth seediness, I liked the balance of flavor more than typical raspberries.

Wow.. everything looks so good.

I'm soo with you about the frozen blueberries. I love frozen grapes too.

I have had some tofurkey sausages in my fridge for a couple months now... hmmm.. maybe I should take them out and do something with them?

Your food is always so amazing. I think that simple sandwich looks especially good. You made a great haul at the market. I really liked the yellow squash like you got - I was told it's Sunny Delight.

Melody, it took me years to try the tofurkey, and I've only braved the sundried tomato as of yet. Good luck! I kinda want to use one for a gumbo, too.

Erica - soy curls, indeed! What's wrong with me, I need to visit your blog...!

Atx- sunny delight is such a cute name! I feel like I've heard sunburst, too (also adorable) but I'm not positive.
