There is a method to my madness.

Bruschetta - probably the easiest and best way to treasure fresh summer tomatoes.
Half of these are tomato/basil/sea salt.
Half are tomato/basil/sea salt/arugula/lemon juice.

Onto the goods.
I teased and you pleaded- so I bring you guys photos of our new kitchen in the new apartment! It may not seem like much, but it really is for us. It's the nicest, most up-to-date and actually functional kitchen I've ever had. I've had larger, but they were dirty and my roommates were roaches or bitches. It even has a dishwasher - I'm wary about but Thomas is in love. Snazzy electric stoves, say what you will, impress me. And hard wood floors that don't have boards and nails sticking out! There's no 'theme' or decor.....yet.
Pssst Leslie - I will remove the spices from the stovetop, I swear. ; ) I see mounted spice rack in my future.
Check out the garlic drying on the counter from my csa share.

The new oven with a light that works! Any tips on cleaning scuff marks on the stovetop?
And the fridge - I'll take some inside shots soon because I <3 it as well.

Chocolate, white chocolate chip cookies (sorry not vegan!) - emptying out the freezer and making a treat for Thomas. Don't fret, I'm really not that sweet all the time.
Garlicky chickpeas, wax beans, spinach, parsley, roma and orange cherry tomatoes. Side of cuke. I ate this with hot sauce and am eating something similar with purple kale daily for lunch this week.
PPK Test recipe - Chickpea Cutlets. This recipe will rock your tastebuds like a fantastic vegan Thanksgiving meal does. I served it with mashed potatoes, cherry tomatoes, corn on the cob and Road's End golden gravy that I added dried thyme to. Thomas made the corn and mashed potatoes = awesome working in the kitchen together.
P.S. These photos were able to be uploaded on my work computer, which is annoying. I tried to upload one more shot of the cookies in the pretty oven but it didn't upload.

I have the same kind of stove - they sell ceramic stovetop cleaner. It takes bit of elbow grease and perhaps more than one try, but won't harm the stovetop. Just make sure you don't use anything abrasive on it.

Thanks for the tip Erica. I'll stop cleaning it with my knife..

Jess, I love your kitchen and that you are so happy about it. I am even happier that you plan on moving your spices Young Lady! I see a good spot for them possibly on the side of the cabinets, to the left or right of the sink. I wouldn't put them right over the sink as messy crap and water can get all over them. I look forward to more photos. Those chickpea cutlets look and sound amazing and I would love to try those!

Or maybe they make some sort of fancy spice rack and you can stick it to the left side of your fridge. Then there's no wasted space.

The stovetop cleaner is great, but if it isn't working, they usually give you a razor with the stovetop to take off the hard stuff. You take the edge and push at the burnt stuff at an angle.

But try the cleaner first.

Jess, I am glad that you now have a kitchen that you really like and that's working very well for you! That's a big plus expecially with all the culinary adventures that happen and will happen there.

You're kitchen is designed just like mine! It looks like the stove and sink and stuff (minus the fridge) are in the same place mine are, weird. And the food all looks delicious (especially the chickpea salad :)

Glad you are all moved and now in a great kitchen. I have a cooktop like that also ... sometimes I use a little baking soda to clean the top.
I tried to comment about your comment post yesterday, but I could not. :( I was even persistent with it and still neded in defeat. Glad all is well now.

I love your new kitchen! It looks like a good size and it's very cute. But I don't think I could live without a gas stove anymore! I grew up with electric and never knew what I was missing until I had my first one when I was 24!

gorgeous kitchen! I'm curious what you think of the stove top...I hear they are a pain to clean, that you need special cleaner. A friend of mine once dropped a pot onto the stove (he was reaching into the cupboard above the stove), and it cracked the stovetop so badly they had to replace the entire stove. Yikes...be careful!

Jess-I am so glad you like your kitchen. I do too-it is fab! Everything food wise looks spectacular. I am gonna make those cutlets next...the banana bread was to-die-for! I can't wait for their new book. Mmm on the bruchetta!

I like your new kitchen and the dining table. I'll probably make your chickpea salad at some point. I like my chickpeas with cherry tomatoes, raw califlower, and a mustard type dressing.
