Down to business - this weekend I tested two recipes for the upcoming PPK book, by Isa & Terr, - Samosa Stuffed potatoes and mango chutney. I was finally not broke this weekend, and had friends over - so it was about time I tested something else, which I'm honored to do. <3
Both turn outs were damn tasty, particularly together, and I have no doubt this cookbook will not dissapoint.
Peanut butter fried rice with chard, peas, and carrots, and a side of VWAV based sesame snow peas. I used organic chunky peanut butter and a random bottle of thai peanut sauce a neighbor left with us a long, long time ago. Not so successful as leftovers, though. I think it was creative, so that counts!

Jess- are you testing recipes for the cookbook that comes out after the cupcake one? You're a lucky girl... Both the potatoes and your rice look really good- yum
Hey Karen! Thanks for the word on the meals!
I'm just testing for the post-cupcake book - I would probably weigh 15 more lbs and my coworkers would love me more if I was testing the cupcake book - but I'll live : )
Megan - I'm so looking forward to it as well. Patiently though, since there's a ton in VWAV I've yet to try. Thanks for the rice compliment! I was pleasantly surprised.
Mmmm.... looks great!!!
oooh...those potatos look great! Those ppk girls always come up with the most creative recipes!
Big berries, nice!!! Love yer carbs. Of course, i love carbs no matter. How cool for you to be an official tester. NICE! PPK is a place i'm gonna so visit... someday!
Oh, those potatoes... it's like everything I love heaped into a convenient shell. Yum. Thank you for the birthday wishes! :)

those potatoes look amazing!!
I think you get triple points for creativity on the pb rice. And anything with peanut butter is already a winner. Great idea!
Samosas are my favorite flavor. Looks great
Teddy
Jess, this looks awesome and you are super lucky to be testing for that new book.
I also just commented to you on Julie's blog.
PB rice, now that is creative.
Those blackberries look good too!
thanks, baby! everything looks delicious, of course.
that looks incredible. Looking forward to that book coming out. I love potatoes, and anything to do with them. :)
Those samosas look different, interesting and above ALL DELISH!!
That looks wonderful! Where do you get your indian spices and groceries? I'm curious not just cause I'm a curious gal, but because I'm moving to Portland in a month!
Don't know if you remember me (participated in "midweek munchies" for a few weeks), but I'd love to meet you once I get out there and go eat or make yummy food!
Yea, guys! Get the book when it comes out..not sure when : )
Michelle who knits - An early welcome to Portland! Drop me an email, I'd be up for it.
excellent! when i'm there, i'll email!
but ya didn't tell me about the groceries!
it's silly, but there's this part of me that really needs to know that there's good places for indian groceries and where. i'm at the indian grocery around here ALL the time!
You know and I actually knew an answer to that - Check out India 4 U on Hawthorne and 33rd - it also has an all vegetarian + vegan cafe in it. The spices I used above were from New Seasons and the Daily Grind though - excellent spice collections, as well.
Jess, yes, that was my setain on PPK. Thank you for noticing.
