Ciao for a bit.

-Corn-Edamame-Sesame salad, tested for the new PPK book.

-Tempeh and vegetable stir fry with a spicy peanut curry sauce.

-Mini yellow zucchini from the csa share!

-The peanut sauce consisted of coconut milk (leftover over from the creme pie), peanut butter, 2 types of hot sauce, curry powder, ginger powder, soy sauce, lime juice, garlic powder, cayenne, rice vinegar and plain soy milk when needed to thin it out. This was my favorite peanut sauce yet, and the tempeh went So well with the meal. The tempeh was marinaded in lime juice, soy sauce, maple syrup, garlic, red wine vinegar and toasted sesame oil. It was fried, removed from the pan, and added again once the veggies were cooked. The veggies were chard, snow peas, green beans, and zucchini. I was so pleasantly surprised by how much we liked the tempeh like this.

-The corn salad has been the perfect work snack this week.

-The squash is so damn cute. I used it in a risotto with green beans also from the share last night. Sorry, no photos! We've been inthe process of packing for a hectic move and devoured it : )

Thomas and I are currently in the process of packing and moving (well I'm at the office right now) preparing to be between apartments for 4-5 days. Our cats, Zelda and Huxley, will be at a retreat, and we'll be apartment-sitting for neighbors in the meantime. Maybe I'll figure out a layout I like too. See you all in a week or so once we've unpacked the computer~
P.S. The new kitchen is 100x nicer than the one we're leaving!

Is the tempeh a test for the new book? Because it sounds, and looks marvelous! I've got Isa's cupcake book on pre-order over at Amazon and if she's coming out with PPK2, I'm all over that as well. WOO-HOO! Any idea on when it's to be published?
Those little zucchinis look so cute. Do the yellow ones taste the same as the green? I've seen yellow ones but never eaten them.
Good luck with your move. Our neighours moved yesterday in 37C (99F) temps. I hope it's cooler for you. Oh, you'll so enjoy your kitchen! I went from fabulous kitchen to a not so hot one and it frustrates me more often than not.

Hey, Jess, I was in downtown Portland yesterday and searching for a place to have lunch when I happened upon your recommended India Chaat House. I got the $5 lunch special--what a lot of food for $5! Garbanzoes, palaak paneer, mixed veggies, rice and naan. I bought a chai as well and I really enjoyed it. It was so hot I had to eat slowly and still burned my mouth. So good.

Hope you get settled soon....moving is the pits! But at least you're young. I'm hoping to move exactly one more time, into a house we plan to buy, and then stay put.

I have been having so muc fin with different types of zukes and squash this year!

Thanks for swinging by my new place. I changed the layout already. I'm excited because of all the layout choices but the sidebar confuses me so under goodies you can find a bunch of other stuff until then. lol
