groceries

Not a lot of shopping this week due to the house-boundness. This photo features organic baby spinach, macadamia nuts, hazelnuts, soy yogurt, bananas, Tropical Source chocolate chips (so decadent) and Zelda trying to get on the table, among other things. I also picked up more earth balance on sale, more garlic, another giant jug of orange juice and pizza dough. I'm glad to have agave nectar - a big bottle! back in the house as well.

No dinner post this evening, we went out camera-less to Nicholas restaurant for the veggie mezza and falafel and delicious, delicious fresh baked bread. This was post record shopping and our first and very enjoyable random visit to Ground Kontrol. I love the Simpsons arcade game.

Indulgent trips were also made to Sur La Table and The Decorette Shoppe late last week~

And..my new shoes came today! They're my first pair of No Sweats and I love them on my feet. I'd typically opt for black or pink shoes, but these were the low-tops on sale and I'm glad I went with this color now that I've worn them around all evening. Next up are a pair of Earth mary janes.

Looks like a yummy bunch of groceries. I haven't tried agave nectar yet. I bought a bunch a sorghum that was grown and made into syrup at a farm 30 miles away from my home a while back. When I use this up, I plan to try the nectar. I got a good deal on Earth Balance this week also.

Jess... The Rising Moon - I love the ravioli. I used to eat it a lot but I haven't had it (why?) in a while. I have never ever seen any other product by them and I am SUPER-EXCITED RIGHT NOW! Your stuff looks a lot like everything I like, and just like Kleopatra, it looks a lot like what I get. I usually buy my yogurts on-the-go when I stop at the co-op. I like that nectar but I buy the lighter kind of that brand and the darker kind of another brand. How much was that agave if you don't mind me asking? Was it a 23fl oz bottle?

question about the No Sweats: do they, unlike chucks, have arch support? it seems like more and more shoes these days don't have arch support and i'm one of those people that need it.

oh man, I didn't even notice your cat's head at first. So cute!

I love the shoes!

Your shopping looks a lot like mine - though mine covers a bit more counter since there are four of us (plus the two dogs I cook for). Isn't the Rising Moon company in Eugene? I remember writing to them once and they sent me a bunch of coupons. I like supporting that kind of company.

I've never had soy yogurt, they don't have it around here. Does it taste like regular yogurt?

Zelda's going for the spinach, isn't she?

It must be new shoe season -- I just bought a pair of Earth Shoes, and posted a picture on my blog tonight! I'm curious about the arch supports in the No Sweats, too -- my Chucks are great, but I have to put insoles in them.

Cool shoes. btw, the blue goes nicely with your blog colors! Didn't notice your cat at first...so cute. How long until your unhousebound?

That's a pretty sweet grocery haul. Especially the agave - I really need to try that stuff, but it's so expensive at my health food store.

I love those No Sweats. I've been thinking about getting some. Are they more comfortable than regular Chucks, do you think?

kleopatra - glad to have items in common! I'm curious, such as..?

Dori - I recommend the agave nectar, I prefer the dark variety.

Leslie - I really like their garlic & veggies ravioli, and although this jar is filled with nuts, this sauce is one of the very few bottled sauces I enjoy - cabarnet tomato or whatnot. I buy the ravioli when it's on 2/5 sale on occasion and keep them in the freezer for super quick dinners. As for the agave, it's a 23.5 oz and was 5.99, my first time buying the larger bottle - yes it was exciting!

As for the no sweats queries, I'm really glad to be supporting the company, and I have no complaints so far. The color is great and so is the comfort. I've only had knock-off brand chucks previously, and they weren't very comfy, and these yeah, they don't feel like running sneakers or whatnot, but no complaints. They make them in high tops as well, but I have no idea about the arch support.

Grace- soy yogurt tastes very similar to regular yogurt, maybe a little less creamy/dairy vibe, of course. Honestly, I'm not big on yogurt and mostly use the soy yogurt for baking as an egg replacer, I eat it on occasion at work for a snack. My boyfriend <3 the raspberry silks.

wiebke- I must check out this scone recipe!

Vicki- Thanks! And I am no longer housebound, I'm still snotty and lovely, but the pink eye faded by Tuesday morning, though I still went to work Monday, oh my.
