Vege Thai

Last night we treated ourselves to dinner at Vege Thai...

Pad Thai with Soy Chicken (their new vegetarian soy chicken). Second photo: Pad See Yu (please correct my spelling!) with tofu.

Yes, we sprung for the appetizer sampler. Oh, snap. I'm craving greens now to balance this. Vegan chicken nuggets, BBQ tofu, spring rolls, fried wontons & fried tofu and a trio of dipping sauces. One was sweet, another was slightly spicy and the third was a creamy peanut sauce.

I wish I was lucky enough to have a restaurant like this near me. (Or maybe I'm lucky to not have one . . . )

I could easily eat at vege thai and the chaat house for the rest of(my life) the year! I fucking love that place!

Sarchan- Portland is a lovely city for veg eating, and I'm grateful. I have another veg restaurant review to post later : )

Allie - thank you! I wish boba house had some recipes up on the website!

SDG - well then you must come and visit ; )

Webly - Sometimes I agree. But Tommy and I switched 'usuals' last night and I should have ordered my favorite, pad thai, no onions, tofu + lime.. Lunch at the chaat house..I'm there..

Ooh, I'm a no-onions kinda gal too and tofu not pretend chickens. I love how you brought the camera to the restaurant, I was confused at first (take out?) but now I get it. Awesome.

eatpeaceplease- Yeah I thought I'd take the show on the road, or something like that ; ) My boyfriend is the faux chicken fan, I can't handle the stuff. The only faux chicken I eat are the 'chicken tenders and fries' at VP2 in NYC, which I recommend to all!

Joanna- good to hear from you! We should get Vege thai some time (because I think I know how this isss)

I might check out that restaurant next time I'm on Hawthorne, but do they have anything that's not fried? I do try to stay away from fried foods.
