So vegan ham log isn't quite the typical definition of a star in an All American meal, but I suppose it is to my boyfriend, especially with a side of mashed potatoes and green beans (from the freezer!). Here's a recent dinner of Thomas', featuring pan fried 'ham'.
Perhaps this is my All American meal: Baked Chickpea Cutlets, Roasted Noochy Cauliflower, mashed potatoes with whipped Earth Balance and Backyard BBQ Sauce for dippin.
Very Veganomiconommy.
Tofu baked in the Teriyaki Stir Fry Sauce (minus the cornstarch) from Eat, Drink and Be Vegan! over a quinoa fried rice type concoction.
A tofu scramble plate from Jam on Hawthorne with roasted garlic, mushrooms, spinach and spices. Oh, and the best hash browns EVER.
And a bit more of the Joy of Vegan Baking Caramel Corn. This was a smaller, peanut buttered version I played with. Excellent results!

I have been wanting to make that Caramel Corn recipe ever since I got the book months ago, but haven't gotten around to it... Yours looks amazing!!
Everything looks delicious! I'll have to make that noochy cauliflower soon! yum yum.
Mmm wow. Looks like you've been very busy. I love the stirfry sauce from ED&BV and red quinoa looks so good. I bought some but haven't tried it yet. And noochy cauliflower? That's a perfect idea!
these meals look so comforting
mmm...peanut caramel corn. my husband would go nuts (pun not intended) for it.
peanut buttery caramel corn sounds amazing. and I'll have to try that stir fry sauce!
The quinoa looks great! I need to do some cookbook shopping.
Love your version of the all American meal!! What kind of faux ham is that? I don't think I've ever seen any in stores...
dang! this post is making me seriously hungry. Unlike everyone else in the universe, I have yet to try the 'nomicon chickpea cutlets.
I love your all american meal vs. Thomas's. I guess they both look pretty good to me!
That baked tofu is looking pretty fine too. yum!
When I look at this post, I realize all American food isn;t bad. Yours looks quite yummy and comforting!
Oh so yummy looking. The roasted cauliflower, baked tofu, beautiful quinoa, PB carmel corn?! *swoon*
I've gotta get some cauliflower, so I got try your noochy rosting method...sounds so good.
And MMMM caramel corn.
I wish I could get ahold of some ham log. It looks tasty, like vegan spam. And sadly, when I was kid, I loved spam. Granted, I haven't had it in 13 years...
that noochy cauliflower looks delish. my favorite "all american" dinner is fried tofu with mashed potatoes. or my vegan picnic salad (a take on chicken salad) sandwich. now it's time for dinner! by the way, i found your sight through melisser and while in portland this weekend (my husband and i live in corvallis) i picked up yellow rose recipes based on the recommendation in your blog-- my husband thanks you, haha.
There is one smoked veg ham by vege usa (one of the only vegan ones from them) that is pretty crazy.
Can be found at Fu Bon (Sp?)
Really useful data, much thanks for your article.
