All American Meals and Stuff

So vegan ham log isn't quite the typical definition of a star in an All American meal, but I suppose it is to my boyfriend, especially with a side of mashed potatoes and green beans (from the freezer!). Here's a recent dinner of Thomas', featuring pan fried 'ham'.

Perhaps this is my All American meal: Baked Chickpea Cutlets, Roasted Noochy Cauliflower, mashed potatoes with whipped Earth Balance and Backyard BBQ Sauce for dippin.
Very Veganomiconommy.

Tofu baked in the Teriyaki Stir Fry Sauce (minus the cornstarch) from Eat, Drink and Be Vegan! over a quinoa fried rice type concoction.

A tofu scramble plate from Jam on Hawthorne with roasted garlic, mushrooms, spinach and spices. Oh, and the best hash browns EVER.

And a bit more of the Joy of Vegan Baking Caramel Corn. This was a smaller, peanut buttered version I played with. Excellent results!

Mmm wow. Looks like you've been very busy. I love the stirfry sauce from ED&BV and red quinoa looks so good. I bought some but haven't tried it yet. And noochy cauliflower? That's a perfect idea!

Love your version of the all American meal!! What kind of faux ham is that? I don't think I've ever seen any in stores...

I wish I could get ahold of some ham log. It looks tasty, like vegan spam. And sadly, when I was kid, I loved spam. Granted, I haven't had it in 13 years...

that noochy cauliflower looks delish. my favorite "all american" dinner is fried tofu with mashed potatoes. or my vegan picnic salad (a take on chicken salad) sandwich. now it's time for dinner! by the way, i found your sight through melisser and while in portland this weekend (my husband and i live in corvallis) i picked up yellow rose recipes based on the recommendation in your blog-- my husband thanks you, haha.

There is one smoked veg ham by vege usa (one of the only vegan ones from them) that is pretty crazy.

Can be found at Fu Bon (Sp?)
