I have a couple recipe posts coming soon - featuring me in love with the fall and making soup, and a post I've been meaning to make involving agar and vodka. Stay tuned.
For now, let's give it up for classic VWAV (that's Vegan with a Vengeance, folks!) roasted potatoes with fresh lemon sage and rosemary.
Next up, ya have a VWAV pancake, poured into my waffle iron, no changes made..except for the addition of local peaches, strawberries and raspberries. And some orange juice and nutmeg.
Probably the best waffles I've ever made.
Another VWAV classic to round out the three - Tempeh Sausage Crumbles. Except these are a sundried tomato and basil variation, since I didn't have any fennel seed.
Poppyseed tortilla chips from Trader Joe's (again, meh to these), black beans, Nacho cheez sauce from the Uncheese cookbook and some tvp cooked taco style. Now I'm over my nacho kick.
Lower fat Strawberry Mango banana bread. A variation from the upcoming Veganomican.
Some food from around town - Egg Mock Muffin from the newly reopened Veggielicious food cart.
And two of the four courses from Saturday night's Red & Black Vegan Family Style Dinner Benefit. First up, Roasted Beet Salad.
And the main course: Wild Mushroom Lasagna.

My potatoes never look that lovely!
Ooooh, wild mushroom lasagna sounds so good! I haven't baked or eaten lasagna since going vegan- what's wrong with me??
I love the mock egg sandwich too- you eat so well, Jess.
My tummy just grumbled.
That agar and vodka wouldn't be for jello shots, would they? If they are, I can't wait to see how it turns out.
Jess, every one of photos that you took of the VwaV dishes should be in that cookbook!!! oh my goodness!! and that baked good from Veganomican looks fantastic as well - oooh I can't wait for my copy of that book to arrive!! :0)
vodka and agar? color me intrigued!
food all looks amazing..and why am i not surprised that veganomicon will do right with strawberry banana bread what i did so horribly wrong?! ;)
agar and vodka?? I have a few ideas of what you could have made using both ingredients..I can't wait to see what you've done!
Amazing post, Jess! Everything looks so good, but I am totally wanting that lasagna right now. And yeah, your blog is one big advertisement for all the cookbooks you use. :)
dang, those potatoes look yum and the strawberry mango banana bread does too.
Wow! Everything looks so tasty. The banana bread looks really good (I can't wait for veganomicon!) and the lasagne looks amazing.
Lovely photos, especially the strawberry mango bread. When I heard Veganomicon was coming out I was so excited you'd have thought I'd have happened upon a vegan cupcake factory. I think I'll cook everything from cover to cover as soon as I get it. And those potatoes of yours do look yummy!
My favs are the egg mockmuffin and the waffles.
Before my vegan days, the only item I would eat off the McD's menu was the Egg McMuffin. As a vegetarian, I ordered it without the Canadian bacon.
Hope you are doing well. I've got a package of red quinoa for you...now it just needs to make it out the door to the post office.
I can't wait for Veganomican--b/c VWAV is still my absolutel favorite vegan cookbook. I always droll when I visit your blog.
i love lasagna, your looks very good!
everything looks really good-- that egg mock muffin is especially intriguing!
everything looks great, as usual, but I'm dying for pics of the agar shots!
