Globe Cafe in Seattle
This meal was so fine it deserves its own post. Tommy and I went off by ourselves early our first morning in Seattle, and walked to The Globe Cafe in Capitol Hill.
The design, the atmosphere, the choices - it all had me impressed upon walking in.
We were not dissapointed in the least - everything sat-is-fied. I only wish we could have eaten here more than once.
I had a hard time deciding what to get - and finally picked one of the 4 stuffed flapjack choices - Raspberry Poppy Seed, along with a side of homefries and a juice.
It was delicious, as I've been getting at, but it was Tommy's choice - the immense full plate of biscuits and gravy with oven fried tofu (I have never had tofu like that before!) that we were both all about.
Everything on the menu is vegan, but they do have dairy milk and butter available in their cute little fridge. I had my pancakes with GOOD syrup, that I did not have to pay extra for (ahem, Paradox) and vegan margarine. So sweet, sooo good. But, with attacking the biscuits, I had only half a pancake, oh well.
Side of hash browns, not plain, not to savoury - just good stuff. On the side is Muir Glen ketchup, which was also a nice treat.
Hell, yeah! My most favoritist breakfast in recent memory.

Stuffed pancakes sound like a lot of fun. I probably would have ordered those also.
Stuffed pancakes! What will they think of next?!?
Now you must weigh in on what women see in Cmmdr. Riker and Kid Rock.
why... WHY can't toronto have more places like this.....WHY!!!!!
I want all of that deliciousness! I wish Boston was a more veg friendly city...
OMG!! I have a cousin in Seattle. I must go visit, even if it's just to have breakfast at that restaurant.
Oh! We just got home from Seattle. Not a pleasure trip, and we ate in no restaurants....but we might have skipped the continental breakfast this morning if we'd known about this restaurant! We were attending a dinner that was, like, three blocks from there. Well, next time!
That's IT! I'm packing my bags and moving west!
so, so jealous......
I could imagine going broke if I ever lived near a place like that! It would definitely get me out of my breakfast rut, though! Yummm.
wow, the globe looks a lot different(on the outside) then when i was last there. i didn't go there last time i went because i had heard Wayward Cafe is where it's at, but since you are so excited about it i'll have to check it out next time.
Mmmmm...that breakfast sounds so good. I'm hungry now. I love, love Seattle and need to get back soon. Most of my mother-in-law's family lives there and we haven't been to visit in quite awhile. Totally pre-vegan days. It's nice to hear that vegan options are a-plenty there. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah, everyone needs to go to Seattle and try this. Karla - you, especially.
