V-I-T-A L-O-V-E & Snow day Love

Ladies and Gentleman, I've been using a Vita-Mix. I know, my life is changing!

I have found myself complaining when pureed soups aren't quite smooth and I encounter a teeny piece of noticeable onion or fresh herb, and this baby is smoothing things out in every way possible. Vita Mix users - share your ways with me! I'm sure to be documenting my usage here.

We got a Vita-Mix last Christmas and now I don't know how we lived without it! Smoothies and nut butters! Hummus and tofu dips! I could go on and on about the lovely Vita-Mix. It really is a product that deserves all the hype it gets.

I don't have a Vitamix but now I wish I did! I don't really mind little chunks in my soup though.

I'm partial to my BlendTec blender ;-)

Happy Holidays, Jess!!

I have vitamix lust. It's so exciting you've been using one. You're so funny about those insidious onion pieces!

Nice snow angel, too! I thought about you with the record snowfall in Portland!

Great blog :) This is definitely going on my wish list this year (along with a ton of other, more superfluous kitchen supplies haha).

Ahhh, I am so jealous! Santa will not be bringing me a VitaMix, therefore I am sad.

I don't have a Vitamix yet but it's on my wish list! That soup looks great and your kitchen table top is super cool! Did you decoupage? I really miss the snow!

your vitamix is stunning!! what a piece of work. it's like god made it with his hands.

the only tomato soup i've ever had is campbell's. i don't even think i could stomach it anymore. haha

I think Vita Mix's are always good for grinding bricks into sand. They are so awesome.

ok, a friend just brought me a 15 lb squash (supposed to be exactly like butternut), an 8 lb squash (no idea what it is), and a squash that is "just like delicata".

my question is, want any squash?

I have to say, that tomato soup looks so much better than when I made it.

I've got a Breville die cast - it works great, though I noticed when I did the lazy method of making tomato sauce (boil them up then run through the blender) - it left little flecks of skins. Eww. Next time I will just use the food mill on my KA stand mixer. I was not just lazy but totally dumb because that food mill would have been easier AND better than the blender.

Your dog looks like she is having a lot of fun.

Next time I got to Portland (NOT during snowstorms!) I should ping you!
